{"id":1955,"date":"2017-02-09T03:35:44","date_gmt":"2017-02-09T09:35:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mrc.skola.edu.mt\/?p=1955"},"modified":"2017-02-09T03:43:28","modified_gmt":"2017-02-09T09:43:28","slug":"speak-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mrc.skola.edu.mt\/?p=1955","title":{"rendered":"SPEAK PROJECT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project used the socially ubiquitous music of rap to inspire students from Maria Regina College to understand themselves, the world around them whilst being given the tools to express their feelings about what they have contemplated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Jon Mallia, a popular rapper, taught participants the quintessential importance of listening and consuming information with a critical mind. This faculty of consideration translates to many life scenarios. Furthermore, students were asked to talk openly on themes such as violence, racism, relationships and wealth in a comfortable setting, using rap music as their vehicle. The project broadened the participants\u2019 vocabulary and understanding of linguistic tools such as figurative speech and parts of speech whilst inspiring each student to be an individual, contributing to a collective cause.
