{"id":2691,"date":"2018-03-24T03:47:29","date_gmt":"2018-03-24T09:47:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mrc.skola.edu.mt\/?p=2691"},"modified":"2018-03-24T03:47:38","modified_gmt":"2018-03-24T09:47:38","slug":"celebrating-multilingualism-in-maltese-schools","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mrc.skola.edu.mt\/?p=2691","title":{"rendered":"CELEBRATING MULTILINGUALISM IN MALTESE SCHOOLS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"xmsonormal\">Languages\u00a0transmit cultures, values and traditional knowledge, hence the importance of treating diversity and multilingualism in our schools as a valuable resource.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: black;\">On the 13th of March, parents and education officials were invited to attend the concert set up by the Migrant Learners\u2019 Unit to remember International Mother Language Day. The day is celebrated by the United Nations on the 21st of February and calls for each one of us to treasure our linguistic and cultural heritage.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Over 120 newcomer learners who are currently following the induction course at the Maria Regina Naxxar hub and Saint Clare College San Gwann hub took part in the concert.
