Healthy Lifestyle Celebration Day – Wardija Resource Centre

A Healthy lifestyle celebration day was held at Marsaxlokk Square on the 29th April 2016. During this celebration day students and staff from the Maria Regina College Dun Manuel Attard, Wardija Resource Centre were involved in various singing and dancing activities including a flash-mob.  Parents and locals were invited to participate in such activities.  Kinder 1 students from Marsaxlokk Primary were exposed to a short activity about healthy eating. Healthy food such as oatmeal cookies, carrot cake, dried fruit and fresh fruit were provided throughout the whole activity as part of the We Eat Responsibly Project.  These were prepared beforehand by the students and videos of students making the food products were shown during the activity.  Thanks to the contribution of health professionals,  a blood pressure and glucose monitoring was available for all.  On the day the students, staff and parents were also rewarded with a certificate by the Major of Marsaxlokk in order to thank them for helping out during a clean up campaign which was held in Marsaxlokk a week before the celebration day.
