CLEAR LEADERSHIP
Professional Development for Maria Regina College Leaders
A successful Erasmus+ project took the Heads of Maria Regina College and their College Principal Mr Patrick Decelis to Gouda in the Netherlands for an interesting one-week Professional Development course regarding Clear Leadership.
The intensive week was packed with hands-on activities and group discussions delving into detail about systemic leadership and deep reflections on one’s own leadership skills, especially when facing dilemmas, relationships, communication and power.
One particular session focused mainly on the process of meaning-making when certain challenging instances occur and the power of questions. Bridge-building questions, questions connected to the core task and tools for facilitating dialogue in groups all led to enlightening inputs on how to focus more throughout the day-to-day leadership endeavours.
Reflecting on one’s personal leadership style and developing it further led to systemic coaching and ways how to develop individuals under one’s remit. Thus another session concentrated on working with teams and understanding the phases in team development.
Discussions were enriched with situations endemic to Malta but also with comparisons to Greece and Finland since other participants came from these two countries.
A dissemination seminar will be held on Wednesday 25th July 2018 between 12 midday and 17hrs. Mr Yvor Broer, course lecturer, has accepted the invitation to give a short presentation. Course participants will also discuss their experiences.
All educational leaders are invited to attend free of charge. To book please send an email to mariaregina.college@ilearn.edu.mt. More information about venue and programme will follow.
