Music sessions for students with Hearing impairment

On Friday 12th October, a group of students from Maria Regina College had the opportunity to attend music sessions which were led by Mr Danny Lane, a deaf musician who is also the Artistic Director of the UK Charity “Music and the deaf”. He was accompanied by Dr John Baptist Gauci. They did a session at Mellieha Primary School and another two sessions at Mosta Primary school.
The idea of these sessions was to introduce the teaching of music to deaf students and students with hearing impairments. Such students were integrated with their class mates in all of these sessions.
The aim of these sessions was so that with the help of various musical instruments that were available, students will be encouraged to access and enjoy music. Sessions were hands-on and students enjoyed playing various instruments. The smile on their faces says it all!!!
