Launch of Farm the City website & App

On Monday 2nd March, we had the official Launch of the Farm the City website and Mobile App, originated by Prisms as part of an Erasmus project. Maria Regina College teamed up with MCAST and participants from Romania and Turkey. This launch took place at MRC Mosta Secondary Zokrija.
Mr Decelis, MRC Head of College Network, spoke about the fact that nowadays young people are more detached from nature. He added that MRC decided to form part of this “Farm the City” Erasmus project with the aim to increase the skills in students in cultivating crops and carry out other basic agricultural tasks. He thanked all the staff at Prisms especially Mr Abraham Azzopardi for coordinating.
Mr Malcom Borg spoke about the situation of Farming in Malta and Mr Abraham Azzopardi, Youth Worker with Prisms spoke about the idea behind Farm the City.
After the presentations, the audience had the opportunity to visit the Agribusiness Centre at MRC Mosta Secondary Zokrija, where they saw the vertical garden which students themselves built as part of this Farm the City Project.
Mosta Secondary Zokrija Hospitality teachers and students prepared a reception for all present.
