Wednesday 11th May was a marvellous day which saw participants from each of the ten Maria Regina College schools take an active part in the first ever CollegeFest organised by this college. Students and staff members from St Paul’s Bay (who hosted the activity), Mellieha, Naxxar, Għarghur and Mosta Primaries, Naxxar Middle School, Mosta Boys’ Secondary School (Zokrija) and Mosta Girls’ Secondary spent the morning together. Activities included physical education, student show and tell about ‘Living happily together’, video games, gymnastics, a student magician, story-telling and a puppet theatre. Various students presented song and dance entitled ‘Around the World’ and the Literacy section was accompanied by three Literacy Ambassadors.
College Principal Mr Patrick Decelis showed The Hon. Minister Bartolo and other distinguished guests round the CollegeFest which came to a close with the formation of a 1500–strong human chain in and around the school, depicting the CollegeFest theme, that is the fact that all students and staff at Maria Regina College live happily together notwithstanding their differences in gender, size, age, ability, religion, nationality, culture.
