Her Excellency Ms Marie Louise Coleiro Preca visited MRC, Mosta Primary B on 23rd April 2018 to commemorate World Book Day and launch the National Readathon, organised in collaboration with the National Literacy Agency. The aim of the Readathon is to foster a love for reading and raise funds for children having eyesight problems.
A number of activities have been held at school in the respective classes and Year groups in conjunction with World Book Day and the reading ambassadors namely, Gilbert Agius (footballer), Christabelle (Malta’s Eurovision 2018 representative) and Keith Demicoli (newscaster) had reading sessions with Year 4 classes. The President also read a popular Trevor Zahra novel in a Year 5 class and then attended a short programme with all school children in the yard. She presented a set of books to our school and the school administration reciprocated with a cheque donation to Malta Community Chest Fund and an artistic work done by one of our Year 6 pupils.
