FAMELAB – NAXXAR MIDDLE SCHOOL

FameLab is a global communications competition that calls for scientists, mathematicians and engineers. It gives an opportunity to science enthusiasts to share their knowledge and engage the public in the most effective ways. In simply 3 minutes, each participant presents a concept on any topic of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

This week, the winner of Famelab 2018, a competition organised by British Council in conjunction with Esplora , Dr Anthony Galea from the Department of Geosciences, Faculty of Science, UOM, was invited to Naxxar Middle School by the Science Department to deliver his interactive talk on fluid mechanics to year 8 students.

Although scientific concepts such as Bernoulli effect are not easy concepts to understand, Dr Galea managed to explain them in simplest of terms and students were able to understand, ask questions and enjoyed participating fully in the presentation .
