Ten students from Maria Regina College travelled to Estonia for one
week. The youth exchange focused on understanding and getting to know each other’s cultures. The young people were quick to warm to their newly found friends. Informal activities provided the perfect medium to build our friendships. Canoeing, ziplining, wall climbing were amongst some of the activities the young people participated in. The setting was idyllic – Forests, lakes, car-free surrounding and loads of greenery. An international evening gave us the opportunity to share information about our customs, our traditions, our food, our typical games and our folk songs. A visit to a war museum allowed us to appreciate the hardships the Estonians went through. Returning to Malta made us all realize that friendships built on values such as honesty and commitment will last a lifetime!
